- The song tells about chapter tenth - "Terrain" in Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" book.[1]
- In Studiosession #3 video, Oskar Montelius was shown during the recording of his guitar part after the bridge.
- The song was rarely played during The Art of Live Tour.
- It was Chris' idea to play the song on the The Last Tour after the band was accused of playing the same songs live.[2]
Historic fact[]
At the slopes of Monte Cassino in 1944 several nations from all around the world united against Nazi Germany in four vicious battles for the monastery of St. Benedict on their way to Rome. Among the huge variety of Allied troops participating in the battle was Wojtek, probably the strangest soldier brought to a modern battlefield considering he was a beer drinking bear from Iran who carried artillery shells for the Polish 22nd.[3]
The Battle of Monte Cassino was a series of four Allied assault against the Winter Line in Italy during World War two. Between the 17th of January and the 18th of May 1944, Monte Cassino was raided four times by the Allies. The last assault involved twenty division attacking along a 20 mile front. The German defenders were driven from their positions but at the high cost of 55’000 allied casualities against 20 000 Germans killed. (Text credits: Gregory Sandoz)[4]
